Two

Two years ago today Riley and I went on our first date. It was kind of a blind date because we had met through Facebook (oh the joys of social media). I was leaving that night to go to my brother's wedding in Sacramento, so we decided to do a quick date to get some ice cream. Our quick date turned into a 3 hour date driving around Salt Lake. We talked and laughed the whole time. I didn't want to leave for California because I was scared that he would just forget about me. I was wrong. He texted me the whole way to California to make sure I stayed awake while driving, even though he had to be at work at 7 am. We talked the whole time I was in California, and when I got back he was at my door within 10 minutes. Riley and I have been inseparable since. He is my best friend and I love him more and more every day. Cheers to another two years of ice cream dates, horse back riding, fishing, boating, hiking, t.v. show marathons, tennis, golfing, late night talks, baking cookies, good night kisses, and lots and lots of love.

Country Explosion-Meeting Toby Keith

On Saturday we had a big pool party with our friends. Shawna's husband Travis and my husband Riley wanted to go fishing after the party. Since the boys were going fishing, Shawna and I wanted to do something together. Shawna's dad is Shawn from KBULL93, so she asked him if he could get us tickets to the Country Explosion festival in Tooele. Not only did he get us tickets to the concert, but he got us passes to meet Toby Keith! To say I was excited was definitely an under statement. My little Oklahoma heart just couldn't even handle it. We waited in line behind the KBULL trailer. I was shaking when we got up to say hi to him. He shook our hands and put his arms around us for the picture. I was too nervous to even say that I was from Oklahoma too and that I use to see him at all of the OU basketball games. After we got our picture, we got a bag with hats, t-shirts, and a CD in it. We also got a picture of Toby Keith that was signed. The concert was so fun. Shawna and I couldn't tell if it was more fun to watch the performers or watch the people in the crowd. I also think our husbands were jealous that they decided to go fishing ;)

My Facial Experience

(I edited this picture through the VSCOcam app on my phone)

For the past 4 weeks I have been on the WiO Diet (more to come on that in the next few days!) and have been working out at least 3 times a week. So yesterday I went to NIMA and got a facial to pamper myself and celebrate all of my hard work without so I wouldn't be tempted into buying a cookie or cupcake. My friend Shawna goes to aesthetics school there, so I asked for her to do my facial. First of all--why did I not do a facial sooner?! (okay I have done one before but it was a 10 minute $25 one that was not good). I thought I had died and gone to heaven!

First she led me to my own room where she handed me a robe and told me she would be doing a massage on my shoulders and neck and my calves. So I put the robe on and got under the nice blankets. She came back in the room and turned the lights down so it would be nice and dark so I could relax. Then she put a steamer on me. It was SO wonderful and warm. Then she worked her magic and I almost fell asleep multiple times. In the picture above was when she put the mask on that eats away the dead skin. She even put it on my lips so that they would be so smooth (even my husband noticed how smooth they were). The mask smelled AMAZING! I could have kept it on and walked around with a green face for the rest of the night if she would have let me.

My facial was only $17 because they were doing a half of special yesterday. Honestly, I would be willing to pay WAY more than even the original price of $35 because I felt so relaxed and my face felt so silky smooth after. Because I have started doing body pump and RPM classes in the morning, my whole body has been sore. This facial was amazing because she massaged not only my face, but my calves, arms, shoulders, and neck. Shawna did a fabulous job, and I even bought 2 more facial services for my birthday that's coming up (okay it's in September, but I'm planning ahead). If you live in Utah call NIMA and schedule a facial with Shawna Schoenfeld!

Wedding Reception

Our wedding reception was so much fun. We had so many family and friends come and say hi and congratulate us. I was shocked! Since I grew up in Oklahoma, I didn't think we would have such a big turn out. My friend Shawna and I made all of the decorations for the reception (which was SUPER stressful), and I'm happy with how they turned out! In Riley's family, the tradition is to put on feather boas and dance to the congo line. It was really fun and it got everyone dancing. Riley's parents even surprised us with a beautiful getaway car and a night at the Grand America. Thanks to everyone who made it so wonderful! And thank you Jalene for taking such amazing and detailed pictures. I will forever treasure them!
