My Facial Experience

(I edited this picture through the VSCOcam app on my phone)

For the past 4 weeks I have been on the WiO Diet (more to come on that in the next few days!) and have been working out at least 3 times a week. So yesterday I went to NIMA and got a facial to pamper myself and celebrate all of my hard work without so I wouldn't be tempted into buying a cookie or cupcake. My friend Shawna goes to aesthetics school there, so I asked for her to do my facial. First of all--why did I not do a facial sooner?! (okay I have done one before but it was a 10 minute $25 one that was not good). I thought I had died and gone to heaven!

First she led me to my own room where she handed me a robe and told me she would be doing a massage on my shoulders and neck and my calves. So I put the robe on and got under the nice blankets. She came back in the room and turned the lights down so it would be nice and dark so I could relax. Then she put a steamer on me. It was SO wonderful and warm. Then she worked her magic and I almost fell asleep multiple times. In the picture above was when she put the mask on that eats away the dead skin. She even put it on my lips so that they would be so smooth (even my husband noticed how smooth they were). The mask smelled AMAZING! I could have kept it on and walked around with a green face for the rest of the night if she would have let me.

My facial was only $17 because they were doing a half of special yesterday. Honestly, I would be willing to pay WAY more than even the original price of $35 because I felt so relaxed and my face felt so silky smooth after. Because I have started doing body pump and RPM classes in the morning, my whole body has been sore. This facial was amazing because she massaged not only my face, but my calves, arms, shoulders, and neck. Shawna did a fabulous job, and I even bought 2 more facial services for my birthday that's coming up (okay it's in September, but I'm planning ahead). If you live in Utah call NIMA and schedule a facial with Shawna Schoenfeld!

  1. I used to work at a spa and even though the prices are outrageous, it's the whole experience. I loved my first facial I had. It's fun to get pampered every now and then ;) good for you!
